PYRAMID AIRFIELD - Facilities & Services

Runways Rules Times & Fees
  • Pyramid Airfield is situated on the Kaapsehoop Road, 800 meters from the R40 between Nelspriut and Barberton.[map]

ELEVATION  - 2729 Feet.

CO-ORDINATES -  25 degrees 40 minutes South and 30 degrees 57 minutes East.

RUNWAYS

Pyramid Airfield has numerous runways.

Runway  30-12 -  800 meters of hard grass surface in excellent condition. Land on 30 and Take off on 12.

The following aircraft have successfully used this runway:

C 172, C 150, C206, Thrush, Jordell and Piper Cub as well as most Microlight aircraft.

Runway  33-15 - 1200 meters of hard grass surface in excellent condition. 25 metres wide.

Runway 21- 03 -  350 meters of hard grass surface in excellent condition. Please note uphill for 03 and telephone wire on approach to 21.

  PYRAMID AIRFIELD RULES

GROUND SAFETY RULES.

1. ALL CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD MUST BE UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION.

2. CARS TO BE PARKED IN PARKING AREA.

3. AIRCRAFT TO BE PARKED IN ALLOCATED AREAS ONLY.

4. NO DOGS OR PETS ALLOWED TO RUN LOOSE. (ONLY ON LEASH)

5. NO CARS OR PEOPLE ALLOWED ON THE RUNWAYS OR TAXIWAYS.

6. NO TAMPERING OR MOVING OF AIRCRAFT IN OR OUT OF HANGARS, TAXIWAYS, APRONS OR RUNWAYS BY VISITORS, FRIENDS OR FAMILY MEMBERS.

7. ONLY AIRCRAFT OWNERS MAY MOVE OTHER TENANTS AIRCRAFT AROUND.

8. ALL PERSONAL REFUSE TO BE REMOVED FROM AIRFIELD.

9. AIRCRAFT MOVED OUT OF HANGARS MUST BE MOVED BACK IMMEDIATELY, AFTER REMOVING YOUR AIRCRAFT.

10. LAST TENANT TO LEAVE MUST LOCK THE GATE.

11. NO FIRES ALLOWED, ONLY IN ALLOCATED BRAAI AREAS.

12. VISITORS, FRIENDS, CHILDREN ETC. ONLY ALLOWED IN THE HANGARS ACCOMPANIED BY A TENANT.

13. ALL AIRCRAFT ENGINES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF BEFORE PARKING IN THE HANGAR.

14. ENGINE RUN-UP AND MAG CHECKS TO BE DONE ON RUNWAY PRIOR TO TAKE OFF.

 

AIR SAFETY RULES.

1. NO FLYING WITHOUT A RADIO AND PROPER RADIO PROCEDURES TO BE FOLLOWED.

2. STUDENT PILOTS HAVE RIGHT OF WAY.

3. PROPER CIRCUIT JOINING AND LANDING PROCEDURES TO BE ADHERED TO.

4. NO ENGINE OUT OR FORCED LANDING PRACTICE OVER AIRFIELD WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION.

5. NO HOT-DOGGING AROUND AIRFIELD.

6. NO FLYING ON THE INSIDE OF THE CIRCUIT AT LOW ALTITUDE.

7. TAXIWAYS TO BE USED AT ALL TIMES.

8. NO TUNING AIRCRAFT IN FRONT OF HANGAR. (DUST IN HANGAR)

9. ALL ANR’S AND LS 1 LAWS TO BE CARRIED OUT.

10. ALL PILOTS AND AIRCRAFT MUST BE LEGAL.

11. ONE RUNWAY TO BE USED BY ALL AIRCRAFT EXCEPT WHEN ADVISED OTHER WISE.

NO CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BEFORE OR WHILE FLYING!!!!
